Regular Meeting April 8, 2009

 

 

      The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM. Present were Mayor Mahoney, Trustee Kelts,

 Rocque,VanDervoort and Pascucci. Clerk Koblensky, Treasure VanDervoort, Deputy Clerk O’Brien

and Attorney Varley were present. Also attending were Craig Falcone, Asst. Chief Brian Wright,

Chief John Fairclough.

       Trustee Kelts moved to waive the reading from the previous meeting.

TrusteeRocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

 

       COMMITTEE REPORTS:  

   

 Trustee Pascucci- would like to appoint Vikki Kelts as part time parks director again the year.

I need to speak with her first. The Quadricentenntial kicks off with canalfest May 9th there will

 be a spelling bee for the kids. The 5K run has been put on hold we are looking for more volunteers

 for this event.

        Trustee VanDervoort- on canals we have many plans as soon as the weather breaks.

Canal cleanup April 18th I am asking up to $125.00 to provide lunch for all the workers.

Knickerbocker Steamer Co. would like permission to have a raffle, selling tickets for a motor cycle.

 The fire dept. alarms for the month totals 11. They conducted 13 OSHA training sessions in March,

an evening training session on 4/24 rappelling and rope rescue, we would like to purchase food. An all

day training for 4/26 live burn in Saratoga, we would also like to purchase food.

          Trustee Rocque- Work has been done in the following areas: Storm cleanup, Community service,

lawn and leaf bag pickup, full report available in the village office.  

         Trustee Kelts-  the village sellout planned for the last weekend in September, concerts in the park

July 25th, Aug 1st, Aug 15th and Aug 8th  sponsored by the Village of Waterford for the Museum.

          The financial report for the month of March is as follows: Checking Acct. $134,328; Money

Market Acct., $19,999 for a total General fund balance of  $154,327. Special projects fund balance,

$16,900, Unaudited Utilites, $6,384; Payroll $6,384; Section 8, $24,340.00. The current abstact on the

General Fund totals $ 20,742.17. Trustee Kelts moved to pay the bills upon the approval of the

department heads and the board. Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

          Mayor reports – on March 12th   and all week 5 to 6 line crews from national grid replaced

 the 4160 power lines behind VFW on second, also national grid installed the 6 remaining lights on

 the south side on broad street. Second Street design is all most finished there may be some EFC green money

 available. Hudson Hoosick partnership which the Village is a part of grant money available for some more lights

on upper Broad Street.

           Trustee Kelts offered resolution#    to adopt 2009-2010 Budget. Trustee Rocque offered the

 second.All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes

            Trustee Kelts offered resolution#       calling for a public hearing on Thursday April 16th at

7:00PM for the restore NY grant. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor

 Mahoney voted yes.

             Trustee Rocque offered resolution#     authorizing a handicap sign for 24 3rd street, on the middle street side.

Trustee Pascucci offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

            Trustee Kelts offered resolution#     authorizing Russ VanDervoort money up to $125.00 for

 lunch for all who are  helping with the canal cleanup. Trustee Rocque offered the second.

All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

             Trustee VanDervoort offered resolution#      appointing Jennifer Daubey deputy village clerk.

Trustee Kelts offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

             Trustee Kelts offered resolution#   accepting Stan Westerfelt resignation from the fire dept.

Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

             Trustee Rocque offered resolution#      authorizing Knickerbocker Steamer Co. to hold a raffle.

Trustee Kelts offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor  Mahoney  voted yes.
