Regular Meeting June 10, 2009
The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM. The Mayor asked for a moment of silence to remember Al Cassella a 50 year member of the Waterford Fire Dept. Present were Mayor Mahoney, Trustee Kelts, Rocque, VanDervoort and Pascucci. Clerk Koblensky, Treasure VanDervoort and Attorney Varley were present. Also attending were Chief John Fairclough, Asst. Jason Rocque, Craig Falcone and Jim O’Brien. Trustee Kelts moved to waive the reading from the previous meeting and the special meeting. Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: Trustee Pascucci reports- the summer park program begins on Monday June 29th looking forward to a great summer season. Trustee Rocque reports- Work has been done in the following areas: Lawn and leaf pickup, street maintenance, catch basin repair/replacement and park maintenance. Full report available in the village office. Trustee VanDervoort reports- Heritage Day week long this year concert on the 8th. The fourth grade educational program is underway this week. Busy month for the fire dept. 13 alarms, also they did there physicals 26 members were due this year. Great training session with fire instructor Bob Day this past week. Trustee Kelts report- Three concerts planned for this upcoming summer season. The financial report for the month May is as follows: Checking Acct. $121,109; Money Market Acct., $641 for a total General fund balance of $121,750. Special project fund balance $16,900, Unaudited – Utilites, $4,828; Payrolls $7,552; Section 8, $27,300. The current A/P abstract is $21,767.65 and the new abstract is $8178.58. Funds Transfer $124,397.21 from money market to the general acct. to cover expenditures. Budget Increases: A3410.2 by $950.00 in accordance with recent sale of equipment and mobile phone rebate. Trustee Kelts moved to pay the bills upon the approval of department heads and the board. Trustee VanDervoort seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Mahoney – meeting with Hudson Hoosick Partnership we have $5000.00 in grant money for more lights on Broad street between 5th and 6th streets. Met with National Grid regarding lights on Broad Street between 8th and 6th Street. Lighting on 3rd and 4th Street from Hudson Street, location of lights on Second Street for our Streetscape grant. Also purposed removing poles on upper Broad Street and Second Street. Second Street, Streetscape project is designed with approval of stimulus money, project will have no cost to the Village. Trustee Kelts offered resolution# authorizing the Mayor to sign a contract with riverspark. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered resolution# authorizing the Village to apply for a Fire Station Construction Grant Program. Trustee Pascucci offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Rocque offered resolution# authorizing the repairs to streets by L&L Blacktop. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Pascucci offered resolution# to adopt Village Park Counselors. Kyle Williams full time at $8.50 per hour, Erica Clickner full time at $8.15 per hour, Amanda Lee, Natalie Bova, Alex Hancox and Michael Hilton all at $7.50 per hour, all part time. Trustee Kelts offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered resolution# to adjust salaries of Josh Masse to $9.25 and Al Cassella to $10.00 per hour. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Rocque offered resolution# authorizing the Mayor to sign a contract with Tap to continue with Main Street Program. Trustee Pascucci offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered resolution# to authorize Saratoga County to pay consultants for the dredging lawsuit. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:51PM.
