Regular Meeting June 8, 2011

 

                  The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM. Present were Mayor Mahoney, Trustee Kelts, Rocque, VanDervoort and Carson. Clerk Koblensky, Treasurer VanDervoort and Attorney Varley were present. Also attending were Chief Jason Rocque, Asst Chief Brian Wright, John Fairclough, Asst. Chief Don Baldwin, Steve Bonnier, Robert Lowther, Lisa Ricci and Michael Dack.

                   Trustee Kelts moved to waive the reading of the minutes from the previous meeting and special meeting. Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

                   Trustee Carson reports-  the summer park program begins on Monday June 27th looking forward to a great summer season. New tire swing has arrived and will be installed soon.

                   Trustee Rocque reports-  Craig Falcone is out of Town, street maint, and leaf bag pick-up continues, along with patching holes in the Village.

                   Trustee VanDervoort reports-   the fire dept had 10 alarms for the month of May, along with the weekly truck and equipment checks. Canal activity has been very busy this season  4th grade educational program is underway 400 children have gone and 300 more will be going.                                                           

Trustee Kelts report- Canalfest was a success! Planning for the Village wide Garage Sale coming up in September.

                   The financial report for the month May is as follows: Checking Acct. $39,469; Money Market Acct., $22,141 for a total General fund balance of $61,610. Special project fund balance $18,853, Unaudited – Utilites, $5,806; Payrolls $8,365; Section 8, $26,965. The current A/P abstract is $36,402.07 and the new abstract is $3,323.97 Special abstract $1,319.00. Transferred  $10.50 in spending authority from A3410.21 to A1325.4 to support payroll taxes on Fire Dept. to support staff. Trustee Kelts moved to pay the bills upon the approval of department heads and the board. Trustee VanDervoort seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.                   

                     Trustee Kelts offered resolution#      to introduce local law 2 selling of second hand merchandise, call for a public hearing on July 13th at 7:00PM. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

                      Trustee Kelts offered resolution#      to introduce local law 3 to amend the Village of Waterford Zoning Law, call for a public hearing on July 13th 7:15PM. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

                      Trustee Rocque offered resolution#        go to bid for the 2nd phase of Second Street,

Streetscape project cost $71,163.00. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

                      Trustee Carson offered resolution#      to adopt Village Park Counselors. Kyle Williams director  $11.00 per hour, Michael Hilton full time at 8.02 per hour. Michael Patrignani, Zac Lennon, Katie McGreivy and Paige Borden part time 15 hours weekly at $8.02 per hour. Melissa Koblensky and Jessica Pelcher 20 hours at $8.02 per hour.

                      Trustee Kelts offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

                       Trustee Kelts offered resolution#       to clean-up the property at 108 3rd Street. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second.  All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.
