Regular Meeting 13, 2009
The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM. Following a Public hearing regarding section 8. Present were Trustee Rocque, VanDervoort and Pascucci. Mayor Mahoney was out of Town, Trustee Kelts was absent. Clerk Koblensky, Treasure VanDervoort and Attorney Varley were also present. Also attending were Chief John Fairclough and Jim O’Brien. Deputy Mayor Rocque ask for a moment of silence to remember Ann Denise Wright. Trustee Pascucci moved to waive the reading from the previous meeting. Trustee VanDervoort seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: Trustee Pascucci- in parks summer is on the way the park director Vikki Kelts will be interviewing for park councilors. The list of park councilors will be ready by the next board meeting. I would like to thank Craig for ordering new swings for the park. Trustee VanDervoort- I would like to thank all who helped with canal sweep. Special thanks Bert Mahoney, Craig Falcone and Mike Burns and the Fire Dept. for all their help. Also thanks to the Town for the use of their truck. I received a letter for Carmella Mantello and others for thanking us for the great work with the canal sweep she was very impressed with the job that was done. The canal way 4th grade educational program will be the first week in June. National trail day will be June 6th. Canal way history program at lock 2, 100 Teachers and Teachers Aids enjoyed this program. The Quadricentenntial will have an event on September 19th 26.2 mile walk Waterford in the key to this event ending here with a celebration. Fire Dept. answered 10 alarms for the month of April, along with regular truck and equipment checks. Trustee Rocque- Work has been done in the following areas: Storm debris cleanup, community service, lawn and leaf bag pickup, street sign and catch basin installation and park maintenance. Full report available in the village office. Trustee Kelts- Trustee Rocque reports canalfest was a success! The financial report for the month of April is as follows: Checking Acct. $57,874; Money Market Acct., $125,018 for a total General fund balance of $182,892. Special Project Fund balance $16,900, Unaudited Utilities, $5,691; Payrolls $5,617; Section 8, $27,300. The current abstract on the General Funds totals $123,597.14. Funds Transfers $105,000 from the General Account to the Money Market Acct. This transfer allows the Village to earn interest at a greater rate. Trustee Pascucci moved to pay the bills upon the approval of department heads and the board. Trustee VanDervoort seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Trustee Pascucci offered resolution# accepting Section 8 Housing Program for 2009. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second. All Trustees voted yes. Trustee Pascucci offered resolution# calling for a special meeting on May 27th at 7:00PM to close out the budget. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second. All Trustees voted yes.
As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:47PM.
