Regular Meeting November 10, 2009

 

      The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM. Present were Mayor Mahoney, Trustee

Kelts, Rocque, VanDervoort and Carson. Clerk Koblensky, Attorney Varley and Treasurer Ryan VanDervoort were present. Also present were Bob Lowther, Craig Falcone, Chief John Fairclough and Asst. Chief Brian Wright.

       Trustee Kelts moved to waive the reading from the previous meeting and special meeting. Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

    Trustee Carson reports- youth council everything is going well, rock for tots is under way. The Christmas Parade will be on November 28.

    Trustee VanDervoort reports- on canals, the canal will be closing on the 15th there will be one winter event planned for this upcoming winter. The last three months the fire departments computer has not been working, they answered 36 alarms over the last 3 months. The new truck has been ordered.

    Trustee Rocque reports- Director of Public Works, Street Maintenance, Resident Complaints and Holiday Decorating. Full report is available in the Village Office.

    Trustee Kelts reports- Village is in good order, no complaints.  

    The financial report for the month of October are as follows: Checking Acct. $45,051;

Money Market Acct. $155,768; for a total fund balance of $200,819. Special projects fund balance $7,398; Unaudited Utilites  $5,693; Payroll $6,843; Section 8, $26,049.

The current abstract is $29,149.91. Funds Transfer from Money Market Account to the General Fund Account to fund Approved Audited from September 9th meeting. Trustee Kelts moved to pay the bills upon the approval of the department heads and the board. Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

     Mayor reports- we have a few projects going on in the village sidewalks on Second Street and crubs have been reset. The lights on broad street will be installed soon everything is ready just waiting for National Grid. Final payment has been made on streetscape bond that we floated five years ago to do 1st 3rd and 4th Streets, so there will be more money next year to do more public works projects.

       Trustee Kelts offered resolution#      appointing Michele Brown of First Street as Deputy Treasure at $16.62 per hour. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

       Trustee Kelts offered resolution#     authorizing increasing contract with planert Utility from $10,000 to $10,700. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

        Trustee Rocque offered resolution#     authorizing 89 Second Street to participate in the sidewalk program and reset 68 feet of curb. Trustee Kelts offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.
