Regular Meeting October 12, 2011
The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM. Present were Mayor Mahoney, Trustee Kelts, Esposito, VanDervoort and Carson. Clerk Koblensky, Attorney Varley and Treasurer Ryan VanDervoort, Deputy Treasurer Lisa Ricci were present. Also present were Bob Lowther, Chief Jason Rocque, Michael Dack, John Porchello and Sandy Wagner. Trustee Kelts moved to waive the reading from the previous meeting and special meeting. Trustee Esposito seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Trustee Carson reports- working on a price for lights in park, price will include the company decorating the park and taking down the decorations. Trustee VanDervoort reports- fire dept. answered 16 calls, many were related to the flooding from storm lee. The dept has 5 firefighters enrolled in firefighter 1 at Halfmoon station projected graduation date is December of this year. This week coming is Fire prevention week. New 800 mhz radios install almost complete. Trustee Esposito reports- Library meeting will be held on November 8, youth council closing soccer day is October 23rd at middletown road field. Trustee Kelts reports- people in the flooded area are request for more dumpster. The financial report for the month of September are as follows: Checking Acct. $96,848; Money Market Acct. $22,155; for a total fund balance of $119,004. Special projects fund balance $13,023; Unaudited Utilities $6,081; Payroll $8,428; Section 8, $27,413. The current abstract is $27,412. Trustee Kelts moved to pay the bills upon the approval of the department heads and the board. Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor reports-applied to fema for public assistance, the flooded area went thur 75 dumpsters, total around 25,000, adding more sidewalks and curbs to the Streetscape project. Recycling Day this Saturday at 4th Street 9-2. Trustee Kelts offered resolution# to approve Brendese sidewalk at 133 Broad Street on 7th Street side, acted as his own contractor. Trustee Esposito offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered resolution# add 37 and 40 Second Street to the sidewalk project. Trustee Esposito offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Esposito offered resolution# add 58 feet of curb to middle street next to 37 second street. Trustee Kelts offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered resolution# to call for a public hearing on November 9th at 7:15PM, to amend open container law. Trustee Esposito offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered resolution# change December 14th meeting to December7th and agenda meeting from the 12th to the 5th. Trustee Esposito offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered resolution# authorizing the Fire dept. to solicit buyers to bid for surplus radio equipment. Trustee Esposito offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.
As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:15PM.
