Regular Meeting October 14, 2009

 

   The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM. Present were Mayor Mahoney, Trustee Kelts, Rocque, VanDervoort and Carson. Deputy Clerk O’Brien, Attorney Varley and Treasure Ryan VanDervoort were present.

   Trustee Kelts moved to waive the reading from the previous meeting. Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

 COMMITTEE REPORTS:

    Trustee Carson reports- youth council drop off program is open and running smoothly, they are planning their Halloween party.

    Trustee VanDervoort reports- fire prevention week was a big success they visited the pubic and private schools, and several day centers. Open House was also a great success 85 people attended. On Canals a new committee is being formed, and they are planning a winter event.

     Trustee Rocque reports need volunteers to decorate the park for the Holliday Season.

     Trustee Kelts reports- village sellout was a big success!

     The financial report for the month of September are as follows: Checking Acct.  $122,593; Money Market Acct. $97,487; for a total balance of $220,079. Special projects fund balance $7,398; Unaudited Utilites $5,375; Payroll $10,666; Section 8, $23,442. The current abstract is $27,473.79. Trustee Kelts moved to pay the bills upon the approval of the department heads and the board. Trustee VanDervoort seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

       Mayor reports- the fence repair in the village parking lot should start Thursday October 15th this is part of the main street program price $1800.00 TAP will pay 1600.00 and 200.00 will come from the village budget. Lights on Broad Street between 5th and 6th will be going up soon, the foundations will be poured on the 15th of October. The repaving of Broad Street between 4th and 2nd will be put off until the spring.   

     Trustee Kelts offered resolution #     to move handicap sign from 24 Third Street to 48 second street. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

   Trustee Kelts offered resolution#  authorizing the Mayor to sign intermunicipal storm grant corporative resolution with Saratoga County. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

    Trustee VanDervoort offered resolution#     authorizing the owner of 34 Middle Street to repair his sidewalks according to the village specifications and to be reimbursed $4.50 per square foot.

     Trustee Rocque offered resolution#     authorizing sidewalks at 60-62 Broad Street, 81 Second Street and 83 Second Street as a regular part of the sidewalk program. Trustee Carson offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

      Trustee Kelts offered resolution#   to reset 90 lineal feet of curb @ $3600.00 in front of 81-83 Second Street. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

      Trustee Kelts offered resolution#     authorizing L&L Blacktop to pave and repair areas throughout the village not to exceed $12,100.00. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

        Terry Bedient of 38 Towpath Lane, issue with turning off 8th Street onto Washington Ave.

                                                 As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:45PM.
