Regular Meeting September 9, 2009

 

       The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM. Present were Mayor Mahoney, Trustee Kelts, Rocque, Vandervoort and Carson. Clerk Koblensky, Attorney Varley and Treasure

Ryan VanDervoort were present. Also attending were Bob Lowther, Craig Falcone and John Porcello. 

        Trustee Kelts moved to waive the reading from the previous meeting. Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

        Trustee Carson reports- park program was a great success 20-40 Children daily with crafts and games. They also took many fieldtrips this summer.

        Trustee VanDervoort reports- fire prevention week is the 4th -10th of October, Volunteers Day will be held September 27th at Ford Hose 1-6PM. No fire report, the fire dept. is having trouble with their computer it is being repaired. Knickerbocker Steamer Co. will have a food booth at the Tug Boat Round Up on September 12th. Fire Dept. will be on detail for the fireworks units on land and in the water. The bids for the new fire truck will be open on the 25th of September at noon in the village office.

        Trustee Rocque reports- Work has been done in the following areas: Street maintenance and sidewalk maintenance. Full report available in the Village Office.

        Trustee Kelts reports- Great Village sellout will be held the weekend of 25th of September.

         The financial report for the month of August are as follows:  Checking Acct. $42,650; Money Market Acct. $97,413; for a total General fund balance of $140,063.

Special projects fund balance $7,542; Unaudited Utilites $5,001; Payroll $6,654; Section 8, $23,442. The current abstract is $19,689.54 and Special projects abstract is $143.50. Trustee Kelts moved to pay the bills upon the approval of the department heads and the board. Trustee VanDervoort seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.    Transferred $41,000 from the Money Market Account to the General Account to fund Approved Audited Abstract from August 12th meeting.

          Mayor reports- Craig and I met with the epa and insisted they repave second street they did a poor job when they dug for the water line and paved. We have 6 vendors to bid on fire truck.

The Canal Corp. to repair or rebuild wall from One Day Sign to rescue squad sometime next year, still waiting to here on broad street repaving. We were not successful in our restore NY grant application for 112 Broad Street project.

          Trustee Kelts offered resolution#   authorizing the Mayor to sign a intermunicipal   storm water management agreement. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and mayor Mahoney voted yes.

          Trustee Kelts offered resolution#      authorizing the mayor to sign a contract with Nation Historic trust for a Saratoga Washington partnership grant in the amount of $5000.00. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second. All Trustee and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

          Trustee Kelts offered resolution#      congratulating the American Legion by declaring September 16th American Legion Day in the Village of Waterford on this Day in 1919 Congress chartered the American Legion. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

           Trustee Rocque offered resolution#       authorizing the repair of a fence in the Village Park not to exceed $4900.00 partial reimbursement from the main street project $1600.00. Trustee Kelts offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

            Trustee Kelts offered resolution#    authorizing the installation of 5 or 6 street lights between 5th and 6th streets not to exceed $10,000.00. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

           Trustee Rocque offered resolution#     authorizing the Tax Collector to collect taxes due on 8 Division Street with no penalty. Trustee Kelts offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

            Trustee Kelts offered resolution#      to close 1st street from Broad Street to Division Street Friday September 25th at 5:00PM until Sunday September 27th at 6PM toway for residents only. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

 As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:34 p.m.
