Regular Meeting—January 10, 2007

 

            The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM.  All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney were present at roll call.  Following the Pledge of Allegiance, Mayor Mahoney requested a moment of silence in rememberance of fire department members Jack Willets and Jack O’Hare.

            Trustee Kelts moved to waive reading the minutes from the previous meetings and accept them as presented.  Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Trustee Pascucci—The Waterford Youth Council is planning a Winter Carnival for Feb. 10 at Sugarloaf Pond.  The drop-in center is open after school and Friday evenings from

7-10:30 PM in the elementary school gym for grades 7-12.

Trustee VanDervoort—The Fire Dept. responded to 5 incidents during Dec.  and participated in the annual Christmas Parade.  Weekly training and truck checks are continuing.  The complete report is available from the Village Clerk.

Trustee Rocque—Report of the Public Works Director includes contracting for street plowing and snow removal, equipment maintenance, and sidewalk repair.  The complete report is available from the Village Clerk.

Trustee Kelts—Seeking ideas for revamping concerts in the park.

            The financial report as of Dec. 31 is as follows:  Checking Acct., $29,385.45; Money Mkt. Acct., $99,745.18; Total General Fund Bal., $129,130.63.  Unaudited Utilities, $7,344.18; Payrolls, $5,246.18; Section 8, $30,375.34.

A General Fund abstract was presented in the amount of $17,125.40.  Trustee Kelts moved and Trustee Rocque seconded to pay these bills upon approval of the Village Board and department heads.  All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted in favor.

            One streetlight was removed prematurely from Broad St. between 1st and 2nd St. but has since been replaced until the remaining new lights can be installed.

            Trustee Rocque offered Resolution #       to hold a public hearing on Jan. 17 at 7PM to continue working on the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program.  The hearing is to be immediately followed by a special meeting of the Village Board to consider any action to be taken on the LWRP.  Trustee Kelts offered the second; all Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted Yes.

            Trustee Rocque offered Resolution #        to authorize contracting foundations for additional lights on Broad St. between 1st and 2nd St. and 4th and 5th St.  Trustee Kelts offered the second; all Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted Yes.

            Trustee Rocque offered Resolution #        to authorize initiation of new lights on 1st. St. between Broad and Division and on 2nd St. between Broad and Hudson St.  Trustee Pascucci offered the second; all Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted Yes.

            Trustee Rocque offered Resolution #      to authorize the Mayor to sign an agreement with Riberdy Contracting for snow removal at the same price as last year.  Trustee Kelts offered the second; all Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted Yes.

            Trustee Kelts offered Resolution #          to transfer $100. from A1990.4 to A8010.4, and to transfer $3,000. from A1990.4 to A5110.4.  Trustee Rocque offered the second; all Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted Yes.

            The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 PM.
