Regular Meeting December 10, 2008

 

        The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm, following two public hearings. Present were Mayor Mahoney, Trustee Kelts, VanDervoort and Pascucci. Trustee Rocque was absent. Attorney Varley, Deputy Clerk O’Brien and Treasure Ryan VanDervoort were present. Also attending were Chief Fairclough, Asst. Chief Jason Rocque, Asst. Chief Brian Wright Craig Falcone, Jim O’Brien and Ed Huneau.

         Trustee Kelts moved to waive the reading of the minutes from the previous meeting. Trustee Pascucci seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

          Trustee Pascucci- reports Masonic Hall won 1st place for best float in the Christmas Parade and will receive a placque. Proposal of a 5k run along the canal for the  Quadricentennial.

           Trustee VanDervoort- reports very active month for the fire dept, training and also annual meetings and elections. The fire dept. answered 16 alarms this month. No activity on the canals at this time, next Heritage Day meeting will be in January.

            Trustee Rocque- Trustee VanDervoort report - director of public works village cleanup and park decorating full report is available in the village office.

            Trustee Kelts- reports no trash complaints, everything is going great.

              The financial report for the month of November is as follows: Checking Acct., $58,414.50; Money Market Acct., $119,923.12; for a total General Fund Balance of $178,337.62. Special Project Fund Balance, $1,634.34; Unaudited Utilites, $6,347.56; Payroll $6,918.27; Section 8, $27,973.05. The current abstract on the General Fund totals $28,110.54. Debt Management: Made Principal $50,000 and interest $3,887.27. Payment on the Streetscape Improvement Bond Anticipation Note BAN for the total amount of $53,887.27. The BAN has also been renewed through November 2009; with a remaining balance of $50,000 at an interest rate of 3.68 %.

               Trustee Kelts moved to pay the bill upon the approval of the department heads and the board. Trustee VanDervoort seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

                Mayor Mahoney- recommendation from riverstreet planning to accept Chazen Company’s proposal for the second street, streetscape design.

                 Trustee Kelts- offered resolution#      to increase fire dept budget by $4,438.54 fire insurance dividend. Trustee Pascucci offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

                 Trustee Kelts - offered resolution#   authorizing the Mayor to sign agreement with the Chazen for the second street, streetscape project. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

                  Trustee Pascucci- offered resolution#    to place a handicap sign at 29 first street. Trustee Kelts offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

                   Trustee Kelt- offered resolution#     calling for a public hearing on January 14th starting at 7:00PM regarding 5 local laws. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

                As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:40PM.
