Regular Meeting July 9, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM. Mayor Mahoney and all Trustees were present, as well as Attorney Varley, Treasurer VanDervoort, Clerk Koblensky and Deputy Clerk O’Brien. Also attending were Paul Caradori, Tony Scarchilli, Jim O’Brien, Rebecca Miller, Jason Rocque, Craig Falcone, and Todd Owen. Trustee Kelts moved to waive reading the minutes of the previous meeting. His motion was seconded by Trustee Rocque and passed unanimously. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Trustee Pascucci- The Village Parks opened the 30th of June all is going well. new playground equipment will be going up soon. A New insurance policy in affect July 30th is a small increase from last year.A Quadricentennial meeting was held July 16th at the Waterford Museum. Trustee VanDervoot- The Mayor and I attended The New York State Conference of Mayors in Saratoga Springs regarding administration of volunteer fire departments. The Ford Hose Fire Co. has formed a committee to replace their truck. The Canal Splash will be August 8&9th The Concert under the Stars, will be held August 8th at the Visitor Center. Heritage Day will be August 8&9th including a Muster featuring Button hand Pumpers. Trustee Rocque- The Library summer reading program has begun 120 children are signed up. Library Friday night BBQS start on July 25th. Two new picnic tables for the park are being delivered at the end of the week. The Director of Public Works Report is available in the Village office. Trustee Kelts- The Concert in the park, The All Paul Show will be Friday August 1st. The Great Village Sell Out will be held on Sept 27th&28th. The financial report for June is as follows: Checking Acc., $203,329.00, Money Market Acct; $83,336.00, for a total General Fund balance of, $286,665.00. The Special Projects fund balance, $2,584.00, Unaudited Utilites, $4,823.00; Payroll, $10,229.99; and section 8, $25,844.00. The current abstract on the General Funds totals $33,123.72. Trustee Kelts moved to pay these bills upon approval of the department heads and the board. Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Mahoney- reports fundraiser for fire victims at the Waterford Cohoes Elks on July 12th 1-6pm rain or shine, food, beverage and live entertainment $15 per- person. The Key Bank has an account, to distribute money raised for the fire victims. The Mayor reminded residents about the sidewalk program. Trustee Pascucci offered Resolution# to participate in the State 400 year Quadricentennial 2009. The second was offered by Trustee Kelts. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee VanDervoort offered Resolution# to accept list of all current members of the Waterford Fire Department. The second was offered by Trustee Rocque. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered Resolution# raise mileage to $.585 as of July 1st. The second was offered by Trustee Rocque. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered Resolution# to hire Paradise Tree Service to remove 7 trees and grind 4 stumps, trim 4 trees at the cost of $5900.00. The second was offered by Trustee Rocque. All Trustee and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Rocque offered Resolution# to raise Mike Brazinski’s
salary to $8.50 as of July 1st.
The second was offered by Trustee Kelts. All Trustee Kelts offered Resolution# calling for a public hearing on August 13th at 7:15 PM to discuss alley behind Kavanaugh’s. The second was offered by Trustee Rocque. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:45 PM.
