Regular Meeting – March .12, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM. Present were Trustees Kelts,VanDervoort, Pascucci and Mayor Mahoney. Trustee Rocque was absent. Following the Pledge of Allegiance the Mayor announced that the meeting was dedicated to the memory of Fred Searles. Attorney Varley, Clerk O’Brien, Deputy Clerk Koblensky, and Treasurer VanDervoort were present. Also attending were Chief Fairclough, Jason Rocque, Brian Wright, Jim O’Brien, and Cheri Peaslee. Trustee Kelts moved to waive reading the minutes from the previous meeting. Trustee VanDervoort seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Trustee Pascucci-reported on insurance for Fire Dept. bill presented for payment tonight. Parks--Vickie Kelts will be parks director for the upcoming summer program. Trustee VanDervoort -The fire department answered 7 alarms and 7 drills –also ice and water rescue. The annual banquet was held on March 8th. The 3rd annual Canal Clean Sweep will take place on April 19th. Heritage Day will be two days this year August 8th & 9th. Trustee Kelts- Great Village Sellout will be September 27th & 28th. Concerts in the park for Friday evenings, there will only be three this year. Dates will be announced. Village seems clean for the most part. Mayor Mahoney- reported the 4 lights on the north side of Board St. have been completed. The crew from Mt. McGregor and our park crew with the assistance form the Town highway dept., continue clean-up on the towpath. They have cut down over 300 trees and they have been doing a great job. The financial report for the month of February is as follows: Checking Acct: $24,907.53, Money Market Acct: $85,947.67, for a total General Fund balance of $110,855.20. The Special Projects fund balance is $18,833.02. Unaudited Utilities were $7,177.48, Payrolls, $7,302.65, Section 8, $27,124.10.The current abstract on the General Funds totals $55,975.89. Trustee Kelts moved to pay these bills upon approval of the department heads and the Village Board. Trustee VanDervoort second the motion, which passed unanimously. Trustee Kelts offered Resolution # authorizing McGreivey’s to extend the noise ordinance to 11:00 pm on Monday, March 17, 2008. Trustee VanDervoot offered the second; all Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered Resolution # granting permission for the First United Church to hold a sunrise service in the park on Easter Sunday, March 23rd at 6:30 am. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second; all trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered Resolution # for the “Coffee Girls”, thanking Colleen Coloney, Mary Ellen Norton, Brenda Fletcher, and Lea Oxenholm for their dedication to our community. Trustee VanDervoot second; all trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered Resolution # , calling for a special meeting to be held on Wednesday, March 19th to verify election results.Trustee Pascucci second; all trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered Resolution # to hold a special swearing in and organizational meeting to be held on April 1st at 7:00 PM. Trustee VanDervoort second ; all trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered Resolution # to adopt a CDBG Fair Housing Law. Trustee Pasucci second; all trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered Resolution # for passage of a “New York State Property Taxpayers Protection Act”. Trustee VanDervoort second; all trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered Resolution appointing Merle Doud, Ted Pascussi, Vickie Kelts, To the Quadracentennial committee. Trustee VanDervoort second; all trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered Resolution # for a budget transfer of $5000.00 from A8170.4 to A8170.41 to cover personnel expenses. Trustee Pascussi second; all trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered Resolution # to increase budget on treasurer/tax collector contractual A1330.4 by $290.00. Trustee VanDervoort second; all trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered Resolution # for CGM Construction to install an exterior door at the Knickerbocker Fire house; cost not to exceed $3500.00.
