Regular Meeting October 8, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm. Present were Mayor Mahoney and Trustee Kelts, Rocque and Pascucci, Trustee VanDervoort was absent. Attorney Varley, Clerk Koblensky were present. Also attending were Asst. Chief Jason Rocque, Craige Falcone, Robert Lowther and Cheri Peaslee. Trustee Kelts moved to waive the reading of the minutes from the previous meeting. Trustee Rocque second the motion, which passed unanimously. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Trustee Pascucci- Pumpkin Fest October 19th from 12-3pm at the visitor center, hayrides, magic show and balloonist, costumes welcomed. Field Trip Haunted Hayride and Haunted House October 23rd 6:30 to 9:00PM, Grade 6 and up. Permission slips available at the Waterford Town Community Building and Waterford Halfmoon School in the 5-8 office. Cost is $13.00 for just the Hayride and $4.00 for the Haunted House. Halloween Party October 31st at the Waterford Town Community Building Games, Prizes, Haunted Surprises, Pizza, and Drinks Free. 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Trustee Rocque- reports for the month of September the fire dept. answered 8 alarms and spent 162.98 hours at these alarms. Continue with in house training, truck and equipment checks. This week in National Fire Prevention Week, Open House will be held at Ford Hose Fire House. Director of Public Works report is available in the Village office. Trustee Kelts-The Great Village Sellout went smoothly despite the weather. The financial report for September is as follows: Checking Acct., $179,150.26; Money Market Acct., $83,566.68; for a total General Fund Balance of $262,716.94. The Special Project fund balance, $1,634.34; Unaudited Utilites, $4,925.31 Payroll $7,935.20; Section 8, $25,043.10. The current abstract on the General Funds totals $22,394.46. Trustee Kelts moved to pay the bills upon approval of the department heads and the board. Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Mahoney reports- New York State rebuild program for Broad Street 4th & 2nd new crosswalks and repaving streets has been postponed until spring. The EPA has started water line on second street. The lights on Broad Street 1st and 2nd are all finished, the rest of the lights will go up after the phone company moves a phone line. The one way signs behind Kavanaugh’s fire house are working great. Trustee Kelts offered resolution# to give permission for the Mayor if needed to hire a contractor to remove porch steps on 98 Fourth Street. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Rocque offered resolution# to put a tax lien on 104 Broad Street for demolition and engineering cost in the amount of $13,252.08. Trustee Kelts offered the second. All trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:40 PM.
