Regular Meeting September 10, 2008
The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm. Present were Mayor Mahoney and Trustee Kelts, Rocque and Pascucci, Trustee VanDervoort was absent. Attorney Varley, Clerk Koblensky were present. Also attending were Asst. Chief Jason Rocque, Chief. John Fairclough, Asst. Chief Brian Wright and Cheri Peaslee. Trustee Kelts moved to waive the reading of the minutes from the previous meeting. Trustee Rocque second the motion, which passed unanimously.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: Trustee Pascucci- in parks we received a voucher from the town our contribution for the parks program is $11,188.96. I would like to thank Shelly Tanchak and Vikki Kelts for a program well run. Waterford Youth Council- Preschool ages 3-5 Tuesdays and Thursdays starting September 23rd. Playgroups ages 2-5 starts September 22nd 9:30-11:00.Weekend fun for grades 5&6 Fridays 3-6pm. Before and after school program for all ages Monday- Friday 7-8:30am 2:30-5:30pm. Saturday Night Program for grades 7-12 7-10pm starts October 18th at WHES Gym. Crafts for kids 1st thur 4th grade starts September 24th 4-5pm. Trustee Rocque- reports for the month of August the fire dept. answered 10 alarms and spent 112 and a half hours at the alarms. Continue with in house training, truck and equipment checks. The Director of Public Works report is available in the Village office. Trustee Kelts- reports the Great Village Sell Out is all set for the 27th&28th of September. The financial report for August is as follows: Checking Acct.,$123,134.00; Money Market Acct.,$83,413.62; for a total General Fund Balance of, $206,625.37. The Special Projects fund balance, $2,219.34; Unaudited Utilites, $4,972.03; Payroll $5,976.96; and section 8, $26,801.10. The current abstract on the General Funds totals $18,266.19; the Special project abstract is $485.50. Trustee Kelts moved to pay these bills upon approval of the department heads and the board. Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayors report- National Grid is finishing installing lights of 1st and 2nd will start on broad street. We have all the plans for the fence along the Champlain Canal bids were opened on Monday. I had a meeting with the department of State, regarding the LWRP which has been approved by our Attorney. We have done everything we need to do to adopt the LWRP. Soccer opening this Saturday, A Parade from the Key Bank to Garrett Field at 9:30am. I received a letter from the booster club there will be no Fordian Fever parade this year. Trustee Kelts offered resolution# to close First Street from Broad Street to Division Street Friday, September 26 at 5pm until Sunday, September 28 at 6pm. Division Street from Second Street, to First Street two-way for residents only. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Rocque offered resolution# to award bid to Rozell East Inc. for the fence along the Old Champlain Canal trail grant, for the cost of $58,974.00. Trustee Kelts offered the second all Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered resolution# to adopt the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program. Trustee Rocque offered the second all the trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered resolution# to add demolition and engineering cost to tax bill for 100 Broad Street. Trustee Rocque offered the second all trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Kelts offered resolution# authorizing Attorney Varley to take legal action against owner of 100 broad street for demolition and engineering charges, he refuses to pay. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:45 PM.
