Regular Meeting March 10, 2010

 

       The Meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM following a Public Hearing in regards to Fire Alarm Law. Present were Mayor Mahoney, Trustee Kelts, Rocque and VanDervoort. Trustee Carson was absent. Clerk Koblensky, Treasurer Ryan VanDervoort and Attorney Varley were present. Also present were Chief John Fairclough, Asst. Chief Brian Wright, Asst. Chief Jason Rocque, Jim O’Brien, Craig Falcone, Skip Morse, Steve Bonnier and Andy Castle.

        Trustee Kelts moved to waive the minutes of the previous meeting and the special meeting. Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

        Trustee VanDervoort reports- Fire dept had 13 alarms for the month of February 642 out of service, bid out on replacement truck. Insurance – Mutual aid increase $25.00 annually for one million dollars of coverage. Amandas Law in affect as of February 22, 2010 ever home must have CO detector. The fourth grade educational program will begin in June, very successful program.

          Trustee Rocque reports- Work has been done in the following areas: Street and Sign maint. Full report available in the Village Office. Library- winter reading Spy Camp Program ended 35 kids attended. Stewarts Holiday Match library received a check for $500 from the Holiday match. Movie Day March 19, The princess and the frog at 2PM.

           Trustee Kelts- plans are to have 3 concerts in the park this summer more information to follow.

           The financial report for the month of February are as follows: Checking Acct. $204,484; Money Market Acct. $11,798; for a total fund balance of $216,281. Special projects fund balance $15,777; Unaudited Utilites $7,256; Payroll $5,732; Section 8 $24,450. The current abstract is $49,031.81. Trustee Kelts moved to pay the bills upon the approval of the department heads and the board. Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

             Mayor reports-still waiting to hear on second street project, we are still in the running for Fire house grant. We have more sidewalk requests for the upcoming year.

Broad Street between 2nd and 4th to be repaved this May, it was planned the year before last, hopefully this year it will be done. Corn beef and cabbage dinner will be held on March 23, at the Senior Center 12:00PM the Town and Village Board will be serving.

             Trustee Kelt offered resolution#     to hold a public hearing on May 12th at 7:15PM for the Section 8 Agency Plan. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

              Trustee Kelts offered resolution#    to accept low bid $77,000 from VRS Sales for a light duty rescue truck. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and mayor Mahoney voted yes.

               Trustee VanDervoort offered resolution#    to accept ban and bond resolution for the light duty rescue truck. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

                Trustee Rocque offered resolution#     to adopt Fire Alarm Law. Trustee Kelts offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

                 Trustee Kelts offered resolution#   to approve handicap sign at 24 3rd Street. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

                Trustee Kelts offered resolution#  authorizing donation of surplus Bicentennial  items to the Waterford Museum. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

               Trustee Rocque offered resolution#    to hold special meeting on March 17, at 1:00PM to certify village election results. Trustee Kelts offered the second. All Trustee and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

               Trustee Kelts offered resolution#     to place a tax lien on 38 8th Street for cleanup cost, and the boarding up of the property. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

               Trustee VanDervoort offered resolution#     to accept new member Steven Blais to the Kavanaugh Hook & Ladder Co. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.

                          

 

                             As there was no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:46PM.
