Regular Meeting October 13, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM. Mayor Mahoney, Trustees VanDervoort and Rocque were present. Trustee Kelts and Carson were absent. Also present were Attorney Varley, Treasurer VanDervoort, Clerk Koblensky and Deputy Clerk O’Brien. Also attending were Jim O’Brien, Chief Jason Rocque, Craig Falcone, John Fairclough, Steve Bonnier and Asst Chief Brian Wright. Trustee Rocque moved to waive reading the minutes of the previous meeting. His motion was seconded by Trustee VanDervoort and passed unanimously.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: Trustee VanDervoort- Museums will be hosting a series of events with different speaks starting this Thursday night at McGrievey’s 7:00PM thur the fall and winter. I attended the world canal conference in Rochester there were people from 17 different Country’s, Waterford is highly know thur out the world for the canal system. I am working on a grant 80/20 to do work at the way station. The Canal will close on November 15, 2010, new sign up at Lock 2 park. The fire dept had 7 alarms for the month of September ,weekly truck and equipment checks. Trustee Rocque – Snow Plowing and removal contract, street maint, trash and debris pickup. The Director of Public Works Report is available in the Village office. The financial report for September is as follows: Checking Acc., $177,677, Money Market Acct; $47,047, for a total General Fund balance of, $224,751. The Special Projects fund balance, $7,601, Unaudited Utilites, $5,911; Payroll, $7,953; and section 8, $23,442. The current abstract on the General Funds totals $40.085.70. Special projects fund abstract is $54,952.50. Transferred (9/9/2010) $40,000 from money market account to the general fund account to support expenditures at the September 8, 2010 meeting. Transferred (10/1/2010) $163,554.23 from the general fund account to the money market account. Transferred $10.50 in spending authority from A3410.4 to support payroll taxes on fire department support staff. Trustee Rocque moved to pay these bills upon approval of the department heads and the board. Trustee VanDervoort seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Mahoney- Second Street project is moving right along, we had the wait for national grid to install the bolts for the lights they should be in soon, new sidewalks and curbs are finished on south street. CDTA informed me a new bus route 432 will be going thur Waterford. County Waste wants the Village of Waterford to have single stream can like the town, County waste will provide the cans. I contacted C P rail in regards to the railroad crossing needs repairing, I will meet with them on Monday. Trustee Rocque offered resolution# honoring the memory of Robert Wager former Mayor of the Village of Waterford. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee Rocque offered resolution# approving the Mayor to sign a snow plowing and removal contract with Riberdy Contracting. Trustee VanDervoort offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee VanDervoort offered resolution# authorizing the Mayor to sign an application for a Trail Grant in the amount of $28,000, $5000.00 max Village funds. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes. Trustee VanDervoort offered Resolution# accepting new member Cody Paquin to the Ford Hose Fire Dept. Trustee Rocque offered the second. All Trustees and Mayor Mahoney voted yes.
