Special Meeting—February 4, 2004

            The meeting was called for the purpose of appointing election inspectors for the Village Election on March 16, 2004.   Mayor Mahoney called the meeting to order at 7PM.  Also present were Trustees Kelts, Pascucci, and VanDervoort.  Trustee Rocque was absent and excused.  Others in attendance were Attorney Varley, Clerk O’Brien, Treasurer Gorham, Bob Lowther, and Jim O’Brien,

            The Clerk read the names of those who have agreed to work on Election Day.  They are as follows:  Varian Senick, Marion Breen, Connie Bishop Margaret Newhouse, Mary Ann Castle, Mary Vadney, Eleanor Rettinger, Lena Comtois, Ann Wright, and Mary Jane Surprenant.  Trustee Kelts moved to appoint those named above.  The second was made by Trustee Pascucci.  All voted Yes.

            A lengthy discussion was held regarding the legal zoning status of the gas station at 112 Broad St.  Attorney Varley agreed to submit a formal FOIL request to NY State regarding any Sales Tax reported during February or March of 2003, when the owner claims to have been  briefly open for business.

            Mayor Mahoney noted that RiverStreet Planning & Development has offered to apply for a Small Cities Community Development Block Grant, which requires holding two public hearings before April 5.  Trustee Kelts moved to hold  the first  public hearing on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 7PM.  Trustee Pascucci seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

            The meeting was adjourned at 7:45PM.
