Special Meeting—Oct. 22, 2003

The meeting was called to order at 6:30PM by Mayor Mahoney.  All Trustees  were present, as well as Attorney Varley and Clerk O’Brien.

The primary purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Streetscape Grant program and explore various cost options with the engineers.

Trustee Kelts moved to authorize the mayor to sign a letter of engagement with our auditing firm, Marvin & Co., to conduct the 2002-2003 fiscal year’s audit.  Trustee Rocque seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

Mayor Mahoney announced that he planned to appoint a Grant Advisory Committee, including the following people who have already accepted:  Ward Patton, Jon Matson, Mark Polnak, Anne Marie Morrissey, Merle Doud, and Brad Utter.  Further names will be forthcoming at the November meeting.

Representatives from the Chazen Engineering firm offered a detailed presentation of their suggestions for spending the $328,000 in Streetscape Grant funds and answered questions from the board.  They also proposed to do an extra survey and study, for an additional cost of $11,900.  No action was taken at this time.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:15PM.

                                                                                    Respectfully submitted,

                                                                                    Nancy P. O’Brien, Village Clerk
